A Seat at Bar Rosi
An intimate wine bar with an Australian heart and a playful Spanish soul.
Our beach day in Noosa took an unexpected turn when we wandered into Bar Rosi, a quietly confident newcomer tucked away on Hastings Street. Between the warm July sunshine and a spontaneous glass of wine, we’d just discovered what has become our favourite new spot in town.
Bar Rosi feels like one of those places you’re almost tempted to keep to yourself.
From the moment you step inside, you’re transported somewhere between Noosa and Europe. Soft blush tones, warm terracotta, polished chrome details and thoughtful design create an atmosphere that’s equal parts relaxed and refined. It’s intimate without feeling exclusive, with a warm welcome from Manager Trudy Schofield, and the team setting the tone from the start.
Hidden beneath Doña Cocina Mexicana alongside El Capitano, Bar Rosi is the latest addition to the Belmondos Group, the hospitality family behind local favourites including Delilah Pizza, El Capitano and Doña Cocina Mexicana.
While I instinctively ordered a cocktail, our sommelier smiled and gently reminded me, “This is a wine bar.”
It wasn’t a correction. It was an invitation.
You can order a cocktail almost anywhere along Hastings Street, but here, the wine is the experience. I handed over the reins with one simple request: something bold, fresh and just a little sweet. Moments later, my glass arrived, and it was exactly what I didn’t know I was looking for.

As the afternoon rolled on, the room settled into its rhythm. Glasses clinked, conversations drifted between tables and the sommeliers moved effortlessly from guest to guest, sharing stories behind each
bottle with genuine enthusiasm. It’s the kind of place where people arrive for one glass and somehow stay for three.
Looking around, I couldn’t help but imagine this little bar in the height of summer. Doors open, salty air rolling in from the beach, every seat filled. It feels destined to become a Noosa favourite.
A little something extra from Trudy
Her personal favourite, which she was genuinely devastated didn’t arrive in time for our photographer and videographer’s visit, meant there was only one thing to do… naturally, I had to go back.
Because we couldn’t keep this one to ourselves.
The rosé of the season, or as Trudy described it, “the one with the naked woman on the bottle”, this is the wine she had been waiting to share. And now we understand why.
CHE COSSE’ L’AMOR Rosé by ALESSIO LOPARDO, Piccadilly Valley
This is your invitation to pop into Bar Rosi to try it now.
Although wine takes centre stage, the food deserves just as much attention. The newly launched Basque-inspired menu is designed for sharing, with small plates that encourage lingering over another pour.
The standout? The Sobrasada Doughnut with whipped ricotta, honey and walnuts.
Sweet, savoury and gently spiced, each bite unfolds a little differently. Rich sobrasada meets cool ricotta before a drizzle of honey ties everything together. Along Hastings Street, exceptional food is expected, but genuine surprise is harder to find.
Bar Rosi delivers exactly that.
