Australian Saya Skincare Partners with American Wellness Leader

In a global wellness landscape that’s shifting from surface-level self-care to deeply immersive, sensorial experiences, a partnership between Australia’s Saya Skincare and the U.S. based Remedy Place feels not only timely, but essential.

Founded in Noosa over 20 years ago by Saya McDermott, Saya Skincare began with a simple but powerful vision. paper mâché sits down with Saya to learn about her creation of natural, botanically rich products that celebrate the beauty of Australian native ingredients. What started as a handcrafted passion project in McDermott’s kitchen has since evolved into an internationally recognised brand, rooted in science, nature, and sustainability.

“When I created Saya, I wanted to develop skincare that actually worked, without compromising on clean ingredients,” McDermott reflects. “From the beginning, it’s been about combining efficacy with a luxurious, sensory experience.”

This philosophy of high-performance skincare that also honours ritual has found the perfect counterpart in Remedy Place, the world’s first social wellness club. With locations in Los Angeles, New York, and Boston, Remedy Place is pioneering a new category of health where science-backed treatments like ice baths, infrared therapy, lymphatic drainage and guided breathwork are seamlessly blended with luxury, community, and design.

“When we first launched Saya Skincare in the U.S., I was incredibly excited to have the opportunity to introduce our brand to Remedy Place,” says McDermott. “They were looking for the highest-quality products that aligned with their philosophy of luxury wellness… products that are not only effective and free from harmful chemicals, but also feel indulgent, with beautiful scents, textures, and sensations.”

Dr. Jonathan Leary, the visionary behind Remedy Place, is known for curating every touchpoint of his clubs with intention. “He doesn’t do things by halves,” McDermott notes. “His commitment to creating a space where wellness and luxury meet is inspiring, and working with his team has been an absolute pleasure.”

That shared commitment to excellence led to the beginning of a meaningful partnership first in Los Angeles, then New York, and now across five Remedy Place locations in the U.S., with plans for further expansion. Saya’s nutrient-rich formulations are now a key part of the Remedy Place experience, acting as a finishing touch to their immersive wellness therapies.

“Our products are the perfect post-treatment ritual,” McDermott explains. “After a rejuvenating session, indulging in a luxurious shower becomes a way to fully refresh and elevate the moment. It’s not just about skincare,it’s about how it makes you feel. It’s about scent, texture, and the feeling on your skin.”

Remedy Place’s unique approach to self-care fuses human connection, evidence-based therapies, and a curated lifestyle, making it the ideal home for Saya’s evolving vision.

“For me, Remedy Place represents everything I imagined for the future of Saya,” McDermott says. “It’s a space that truly appreciates the quality of our botanical ingredients, while also recognising the importance of luxury in every detail.”

The collaboration also marks a significant step forward in Australian skincare brands and Saya’s international trajectory. With a newly opened warehouse in the U.S. to support a growing customer base, and a slate of new product innovations designed for spa and wellness settings set to launch later this year, the brand is entering a new chapter.

“We’ve had such a positive experience working with our U.S. partners, and I’m really looking forward to seeing where this growth takes us,” McDermott shares. “There’s such a growing demand for mindful luxury, and Saya is ready to meet that demand.”

Even as Saya expands globally, its core values remain unchanged. “We’ve always stayed true to our foundation, with clean, effective ingredients, sustainable packaging, and staying ahead of what natural skincare can be,” says McDermott. “We don’t chase trends. Instead, we focus on innovation that aligns with our brand’s long-term vision.”

And that vision may extend well beyond skincare. McDermott hints at the possibility of Saya entering new realms of wellness. “One of my dreams is to open a space where we can offer not only our products, but a deeper level of education and experiences around skincare and self-care. A place where people can immerse themselves in the full Saya experience,” she says. “Ideally, we’d start here in Noosa, where our story began and continues.”

In a world where wellness is becoming more collective, conscious, and luxurious, Saya Skincare x Remedy Place is more than a collaboration, it’s a glimpse into the future of holistic beauty.
